CCS: TERMS & CONDITIONS
This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions that govern the Curacao Credit Shield Debt Cancellation and Suspension Protection Plan (“CCS”) offered by Adir International, LLC dba Curacao (“Curacao,” “we” and “us”). Please read it carefully.
What is CCS? CCS is a debt cancellation and suspension program that protects your credit history by deferring your payments or cancelling your indebtedness on your Curacao Credit Card Account (“Account”) when certain things happen, as described in more detail below. CCS is completely voluntary and you may cancel it at any time. CCS covers only your indebtedness to Curacao under the Curacao Credit Card Easy Pay, Promo Pay, and Flex Pay payment options. It does not cover consumer loans made by Curacao’s affiliate Adir Financial, LLC (for example, “Entri” loans), purchases or services from Adir Money Transfer Corp. (“Curacao Financial”), or any other indebtedness you may owe to any other party.
How Does CCS Work? If any of the Covered Events specified below occurs, you may activate CCS to suspend your regularly scheduled payments on your Account, or, in some cases, to cancel your indebtedness to Curacao. As detailed below, the number of months of suspension available varies depending on the type of event. In most cases, you will need to reactivate the suspension each month. While your account is suspended, you will not have to make monthly payments, no interest will accrue, and Curacao will report your Account to the credit reporting agencies as being in good standing (provided that your Account was current before you activated CCS). You will, however, need to pay the monthly CCS fees. You will not be able to use your Curacao Credit Card to make new purchases while your payments are suspended.
Covered Events. This section tells you what events are covered, what type of coverage (suspension or cancellation) is available for each type of Covered Event, and what type of documentation you will need to provide in order to activate CCS coverage for that event. For each type of Covered Event, CCS debt suspension coverage is available only once in any twelve-month period running from the activation date. To activate CCS for a different type of Covered Event, there must be at least one billing cycle in which payments on your Account are not suspended and in which you pay the CCS fee and minimum payment between activations.
Temporary Disability or Unemployment. If you are disabled due to an accident or illness, are under medical care and unable to work, or if you become unemployed, you may activate CCS to suspend up to six consecutive months of regularly scheduled payments on your Account. You are eligible for this protection if you are employed full time (minimum 30 hours per week) in a non-seasonal job; this seasonal restriction is not applicable if leave is due to disability. To activate this coverage, you will need to provide either (a) a declaration signed under penalty of perjury stating that you have suffered a job loss (we will provide the form for this upon request); (b) copy of your State Unemployment checks; or (c) registration card for a recognized employment agency or job service for the dates you are claiming.
Leave of Absence. You may activate CCS to suspend the regularly scheduled payments on your Account for up to three consecutive months if you take a temporary unpaid leave of absence authorized by your employer due to: an accident or illness of you or an immediate family member; birth or adoption; or residence in a federally declared disaster area. The leave of absence must be authorized by your employer, and you will need to provide an employer statement verifying that authorization.
Military Deployment. If you are in the armed forces and are deployed abroad, you may activate CCS to suspend the regularly scheduled payments on your Account for the entire period of your deployment. To activate this coverage, you will need to provide your deployment orders or similar documentation. You do not need to reactivate CCS each month while you are deployed. When you activate coverage, we will ask you for a contact method (e.g., email or text) which we will use to contact you every three months asking you to confirm that you are still deployed. If we do not receive confirmation from you within 30 days, we will reinstate regularly scheduled payments on your Account in the next billing cycle. Your monthly CCS fees for the period while you are deployed will be waived.
Immigration. If you are detained by immigration authorities or are required to leave the United States due to an immigration matter, or if you incur attorneys’ fees and other expenses in excess of $250.00 relating to your immigration status, you may activate CCS to suspend the regularly scheduled payments on your Account for up to six consecutive months. To activate this coverage, you will need to provide either (a) immigration detention paperwork; (b) deportation forms; (c) immigration attorney retainer letter or invoice showing that the attorney is retained for an immigration matter; or (d) other reasonable documentation of expenses.
Other Life Events. If you experience one of the events in the table below, you may activate CCS to suspend the regularly scheduled payments on your Account for up to two consecutive months.

If the property you purchased with your Curacao Credit Card is stolen in an armed robbery or through forced entry into your vehicle or residence, CCS will cover the lesser of (a) original purchase price after depreciation at an 8.33% monthly rate from the date of the purchase; (b) the outstanding balance; or (c) $2,500 maximum annual benefit. You will need to provide a copy of the full police report. Items covered include merchandise installed in your vehicle; commonly used household items; and portable electronics provided you used reasonable means to conceal the item on or about your person or there is evidence of force or violence as documented on the police report. CCS does not cover losses resulting from damages caused by attempted theft, theft outside U.S. territory, or losses due to your intentional separation from the protected property.
Permanent Disability. If you are employed prior to the disability and are disabled as a result of injury or sickness and are permanently unable to perform occupational duties, at your option we will (a) cancel the remaining balance on your Account as of the date of illness or injury, up to a maximum of $5,000 and close the Account; or (b) suspend the regularly scheduled monthly payments on the account for up to six consecutive months. This may result in a reduction of your credit limit. To activate this protection, you will need to provide a certified copy of the Social Security permanent disability award letter or similar documentation from a State government entity.
Death. If you die, we will cancel the remaining balance on your Account as of the date of death, up to a maximum of $10,000. Cancellation of the balance will result in the closing of the Account. If there is a surviving joint Account holder, the surviving joint Account holder may instead choose to suspend the regularly scheduled payments on the Account for up to twelve consecutive months. This might result in a reduction of the survivor’s credit limit. To activate either cancellation or suspension, the executor or surviving joint Account holder will need to provide a certified copy of the death certificate.
Activation Prerequisites. To activate CCS protection for any Covered Event: (a) your Account can be no more than 89 days past due; (b) you must have had CCS coverage in effect for at least 30 consecutive days before the Covered Event occurred; and (c) you must have paid at least your first monthly payment in full, including CCS fees. If you have recently refinanced your Account, you must have made at least one full payment, including CCS fees, under the refinancing arrangement. If your Account is past due at the time you initiate activation, you will need to pay all outstanding CCS fees in order to activate CCS protection. Late fees incurred and interest accrued before you attempted to activate CCS protection will not be credited back and your credit history will continue to reflect the late payments. To avoid this, begin the activation process as soon as you realize you will need the protection. Late fees and interest incurred after you begin the activation process but before it is completed will be credited back to your Account.
How to Activate CCS Protection. As soon as possible after a Covered Event occurs (or before it in the case of a foreseeable event such as a baptism, home purchase, move, or Quinceanera) contact us in one of the following ways: (1) Log into the online account portal and complete the online activation form. (2) Email ccs@icuracao.com to report an event for activation, and our CCS servicing associates will reply with the activation form and a list of required documents. (3) Call (800) 784-5178 to request an activation form. (4) Visit your local Curacao store and tell a Curacao associate there you want to activate CCS. We may provide other activation methods in the future; we’ll let you know if we do.
Billing and Pricing. Fees for CCS will appear on the monthly billing statement for your Account, under the heading “Fees.” You will be billed a separate CCS charge for each Easy Pay, Promo Pay, and Flex Pay payment option for which there is a balance of $10 or more. The fee per billing cycle is $4.95 for balances of $10.00 to $299.99, $11.95 for balances of $300.00 to $999.99, and $16.95 for balances of $1,000.00 or more.
Cancellation/Modification. You may cancel CCS protection at any time by (1) logging into myaccount.icuracao.com and following the steps to cancel CCS on the website; (2) emailing us at ccs@icuracao.com; (3) calling us at (800) 784-5178; or (4) visiting your local Curacao store. We may cancel your coverage (a) for non-payment or default of your Account that extends for 90 days or more; (b) if we determine there is a fraudulent claim or activity on any Account; or (c) if the service is no longer offered. We may modify the program at any time; we will notify you unless the modification is in your favor.
Purchaser Acknowledgment and Disclosures. I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Terms and Conditions for charges, eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions that could prevent me from receiving benefits. If I have any questions, need to file a claim, or wish to cancel the optional protection enrollment, I may contact CCS at 1-800-784-5178, email ccs@icuracao.com, or write to CCS Services, 1605 W.
